What Cameras can I use with the Jaybilizer 3000?
The Jaybilizer works best with cameras, dslrs and camcorders between 1 and 3 lbs (45-1350 g)
Here is a list of tested cameras:

  • JVC Everio Series Including GZ-HM400
  • Canon Vixia Series
  • Panasonic AG-HMC40
  • Panasonic Lumix GH1
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3
  • Panasonic HDC series
  • Sony HDR 500 series
  • Samsung HZ10w
  • Does the Jaybilizer work with the Canon 5Dmk2 and the 7D?
    Due to the weight and high center of gravity of the 5Dmk2 and the 7D, these cameras do not work well with the Jaybilizer 3000. I did offer a 5D modified version, but I am not happy with the design as it is too heavy to use for extended shooting. I have discontinued the 5D version until I come up with a lighter and more stable design that I’m happy with.

    Hi there, I was wondering if you know if the Canon XH-A1 is too heavy of a camera to use with this stabilizer

    @Jason
    hey Jason, the XH-a1 is over 5 Lbs, about 2 Lbs too heavy for this stabilizer.

    Hello Jay, I’m possibly ordering one of your stabiliazers for my Canon EOS 7D after considering many options. I know you mention in several places that you’ve added extra weight to compensate for this type of DSLR cameras. Are you shipping your stabilizer with these extra weights? and another question: do you know by any chance what would be the import tax for the European Union?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hi Alphonso
    Yes if you order the Jabilizer 3000 5D model, it uses the 1Kg counterweight base. The 5D and 7D cameras are difficult because they are not balanced left to right and they have a high center of gravity. Factor in that lenses can weigh anywhere from a few grams to a couple of Kilos andyou can see why they are difficult to balance.
    I only have ocassional use of a friends 5D for testing and I hope to make a How to balance the 5D” video soon.
    I cannot predict International taxes and duties, they are the responsibility of the buyer.
    Thanks.

    Hey Jay

    I’m working with the Canon XM2 and was wondering if it is fitting on the Jaybilizer 3000? I don’t want to order it from overseas and then it does not work with my camcorder. Thanks for the answer.

    @Ronny
    Yes it works with the US version (the GL2) so it should work just fine with the XM2.

    Hi Jay

    This looks like a great product! I’ve seen your tests for the GH1 but wanted to ask if you know what happens when you add an adapter with heavier lenses such as a Nikon 85mm or a fish eye lens?
